Need help?

We're a small team building FenceMate. Here's how to get answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does FenceMate work?

FenceMate holds neighbour-funded escrow for fencing projects. Neighbours fund a deposit, the builder does the work, and payment is released after both neighbours confirm the job is done right — with LLM vision checking the before/after photos.

Who can use FenceMate?

Any two neighbouring property owners in Australia who need a shared fence, plus registered fencing builders who service those properties.

Is my payment safe?

Funds are held in escrow and only released to the builder after both neighbours approve the completed work. If there's a dispute, FenceMate provides evidence (photos, messages) for humans to review.

How do I raise a dispute?

After the builder uploads completion photos, both neighbours have 7 days to raise a dispute before the final payment is released. Use the "Raise Dispute" button on your project page during that window.

What if the builder doesn't show up?

If the builder accepts a quote but doesn't begin work within the agreed timeframe, contact us and we'll help mediate. Funds remain in escrow until resolved.

How do I find a builder?

FenceMate doesn't currently match you with builders. Ask your neighbours for recommendations, or search for a licensed fencing contractor in your area. Once you have one, they can create a quote on FenceMate and share it with you both.
